The office of the wali of Bangsamaro is in full force today, January 21, 2023 to commemorate this year’s 4th Bangsamoro founding anniversary grand celebration which began with a kick-off parade that went from Gov. Gutierrez Avenue up to the Bangsamoro Government Center. This parade featured a colorful float parade and loud cheers from the crowd. Participants in the parade included various ministries and agencies of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
The theme for this year’s celebration puts a strong emphasis on collaboration and cooperation among individuals and groups in the Bangsamoro region in order to achieve peace and prosperity and to transform the Bangsamoro people towards a better living, which has been an ongoing process for the previous four years.
In celebration of the establishment of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, which shall be celebrated in recognition of the dreams and aspirations of the people to reflect their social, political, cultural, and economic destiny in the exercise of their right to self-determination,” it is stated in the Bangsamoro Administrative Code that January 21 is proclaimed as the Bangsamoro Foundation Day and declared a non-working holiday.
Since the Wali of Bangsamoro serves as the ceremonial head of the BARMM within the Philippines, the staff and employees of the Office of the Wali are out in full force to celebrate this year’s Foundation Day.
