Cotabato City, August 20, 2024 – His Eminence, Sheikh Muslim M. Guiamaden, the Wali of Bangsamoro, played a pivotal role in the recent Mass-Oath Taking ceremony for newly hired and promoted employees of the Ministry of Finance, Budget and Management (MFBM). The event, held at City Mall Function Hall, Cotabato City, highlighted the Wali’s authority in administering oaths of office, a mandate outlined in the Bangsamoro Organic Law.
The ceremony emphasized the importance of ethical conduct and commitment to service. Human Resource Management Officer V Nora B. Usman, DPA, in her opening remarks, stressed the ministry’s appreciation for its employees’ contributions, regardless of their experience level. “Whether you’re just beginning your career with us or stepping into a new role, know that your contributions are valued and your efforts will help shape the legacy of this ministry, especially now that we are gearing towards the regular government of the BARMM,” she stated.
Doctor Muhammad Nadzir S. Ebil, Islamic Jurist of the Bangsamoro Darul Ifta, delivered a keynote address, reminding employees of their rights and duties from an Islamic perspective. He emphasized the importance of knowing job responsibilities, maintaining a sense of responsibility, loyalty, honesty, and proficiency in their work. He also reminded employers of the employees’ right to fair compensation and rest.
Minister Ubaida C. Pacasem further emphasized the values of honesty, integrity, fairness, and hard work, stating that work done with genuine intention is an act of worship. “Our faith emphasizes that employees should fulfill their duties with sincerity, as their work is a form of worship, if done with the right intentions,” he said.
Regina G. Pacho, CPA, Chief Treasury Operations Officer II, acknowledged the vital roles of each employee in fulfilling the ministry’s mission. “We are fully committed to fulfilling the duties that come with our roles, no matter where we stand in the organizational hierarchy,” she said.
Atty. Rahma D. Sanglitan, CPA, Director III, Bangsamoro Budget Office, concluded the event by reminding employees that the oath was more than a formality. “This oath is more than just a formality. It represents a promise to uphold the highest standards and contribute meaningfully to our mission. It is a commitment to not only meet expectations but to exceed them, to lead by example and to continuously seek ways to Innovate and improve,” she said.
Sanglitan encouraged the employees to embrace new challenges, seek guidance, and actively engage with their colleagues. “We encourage you to engage fully, ask questions and be proactive in your roles. Your fresh perspectives and ideas are what will help us continue to evolve and achieve our goals,” she added.
The Mass-Oath Taking ceremony served as a powerful reminder of the importance of ethical conduct, dedication to service, and the collective responsibility of all employees in contributing to the success of the Ministry of Finance, Budget and Management. With the Wali of Bangsamoro leading the administration of the oath, the event symbolized the commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance within the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
